Ceramic

Just as with ceramic floor tiling, ceramic wall tiling can produce fabulous results that are durable and easy to maintain. An endless choice in colours and sizes enables our expert installers to create beautiful wall finishes even along the most complex of surfaces. If you travel on the London Underground you will see the curves of the passenger tunnels and staircases lined with mosaic and ceramic tiles, the skill that is needed to be able to produce this is gained from years of experience and a lot of the time cannot be installed using strict lines and levels but the installers eye is used to create the end result. Art on the Underground has been something DMC have also been involved in, creating some colourful art with tiles.

Metal Panel

Metal panel cladding is an alternative to a tiled finish on the walls, they are both durable and non-combustible, when made of aluminium or stainless steel, in addition to offering a great flexibility in terms of design. Cladding cassette systems are particularly useful in the rail environment, as they can be easily removed for inspection of the structure or mechanical and electrical services behind, and can be easily replaced. The cladding can be used for both the wall and ceiling.

Render

Just as floor build up is integral to the finished product, so is render for wall finishes. New builds provide a fairly satisfactory surface to install tiles, however a lot of our work is refurbishment, where old tiles and render are broken out to be replaced with new. Often the sub-structure is not suitable to install new tiles and has to be made good, either by bringing out the wall with render or by patch repairs using a suitable product, or by strengthening the surface in order to install the tiles with metal mesh. DMC work closely with our suppliers to provide the most suitable product to render the walls and prepare it for the tiles, taking into account programme, cost and the environment in which we are installing. DMC can also provide a perfectly smooth rendered finish that can be painted, and not tiled.
